Hawkesbury Vision Project
your parish: your view
The aim of the project is to produce a report that describes how people living in and around the village of Hawkesbury Upton, the Commons and Little Badminton would like to see their local area develop in the future.
This report will be useful to the community because it will identify the things that people would like to change, improve or protect in their local area. The local community will then be in a position to decide what steps should be taken to try and bring these developments about.
The report can also be used to demonstrate how strongly people feel about a particular local issue or feature to other groups, such as the Parish Council, South Gloucestershire Council and beyond.
It is important that people know that their views will make an important contribution to the development of the final report.
The report is independent of all other organisations and nothing is pre-determined; it is the views of local people that really count because this will be their report for their parish area.
Members of the community have volunteered to help with the project and they will be collecting the views of other local people through different events, activities and surveys over the coming months. There will also be a village-wide questionnaire based on the issues raised by local people.
The final report will be published in early 2007 and available to everyone in the village and surrounding area.
The development and production of the report is supported by a grant from the Government (Defra) with support from South Gloucestershire Council and Community Action, and an additional grant from the Parish Council.
